Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board: Introducing the summer cycle!
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) has replaced its annual Minneapolis day-long bike tour, usually scheduled for September, with cycling events and activities throughout the warmer months.
A new Cycling in the summer additions to extended event series cycling programs to create options suitable for people of all ages, backgrounds and driving abilities.
- Cycling programs are at the heart of a strategic initiative, announced in 2020, to provide accessible, innovative and quality programs to all residents of Minneapolis, especially youth. (Other areas are Creative spaces, community gardens, nature programming, youth employment and intergenerational centers of excellence, currently in development).
- Several other day-long bike tours in the Twin Cities had resulted in more competition and fewer participants on the MPRB’s Minneapolis Bike Tour.
