Watch: Fan rushes machine on stage, security guard fires Tom Morello instead

Keeping the members of Rage Against the Machine together on their long-awaited reunion tour is proving to be a tougher task than anyone initially thought.

In a video filmed by Youtube user Cody Gittins at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, a rogue fan can be seen jumping on stage during Rage Against the Machine’s performance of their mega-hit, “Killing in the Name.” A security guard responds immediately but guitarist Tom Morello stands directly in the way of the rider and the security guard tackles Morello with the fan.

The rest of Rage Against the Machine continues to play the song for about 10 seconds before vocalist Zack de la Rocha orders everyone to “hold, hold, hold”.

Luckily for everyone involved, Morello jumped uninjured. His guitar also suffered no damage. metal hammer reports that Morello asked the crowd “What just happened?” while de la Rocha said, “Don’t try that shit. I am sorry. We are cool. We all love you, but don’t do this.

Earlier in the tour, de la Rocha injured his leg while performing “Bullet in the Head”. It’s still unclear what injury was sustained, but he’s sat out playing ever since.

Hoping that the rest of the tour (dates below) will be a little less dangerous for the band.
